Reflection on Writing and Research Experience
While life is learning process, I must admit that there are some lessons and skills that are more important to learn than others. One of the most important I have learned in the last six weeks is writing and research skills. The learning of experience was insightful and opened my view of writing and research to a broader level. Particularly, I learned to engage other people in discussion and learn from the ideas and knowledge of others. The six weeks experience allowed me to embrace new views that challenge my current writing and research capabilities.
Specifically, I learned I learned how to write in specific terms and avoiding vague writings that do not present clear message. At the same time, I learned how to choose words and present ideas in a manner that readers will comprehend without much hassle. In addition, I learned the importance of evaluating the sources of information when researching. This is in addition to the ability to explore deeper content about a topic and a subject under study. This is because I learned how to research new content by using the current knowledge to explore the unknown.
The priceless skills learned have already helped me to pursue academic writing and research in my current courses. I have become a better student, which I have evidently seen it in my performance. As a result of better research skills, I believe this will translate into a better career in my professional life. The learned skills will further help me understand the research and writings by other intellectuals in the world. More importantly, the writing skills learnt in this course will help me become a better communicator in my personal life through better writing.
