Critical Thinking and Reflection
Being an effective critical thinking makes the decision longer, but more effective. Being a critical thinker does not necessarily make the decision making process challenging because the decision reached is well thought. The challenge with critical thinking is the ability of the thinker to consider every aspect of the decision to be made. This consideration of an issue at all dimensions and outcome of a decision makes critical thinking a time consuming activity (Moore & Parker, 2012). This is what is commonly considered challenging, even if it is not.
The statement is true, that the most successful people make better decisions than the unsuccessful ones. This is because the achievements of people are a direct result of the decisions they have made in the past. Therefore, successful people have succeeded because of the decisions they have made, to shape their current and future success. A good example is the role that critical thinking has played in my decision making. Applying critical thinking has helped me make better decisions in school and I have seen improvement in my grades and better study time and skills.
This class has significantly imparted important critical thinking skills in my life. My interaction with other people has changed because I have learnt to make well thought decisions about my interactions. I intend to utilize critical thinking skills in my professional life, so that I can make better decisions that will propel my career to success. Therefore, critical thinking was one of the most impactful key concepts I learned in this class. The other key concept was interpretation skills of evaluating how I perceive, think and understand issues in the environment. These concepts have helped me to understand the environment around me and respond appropriately.
