Bennet, J. (2010). Sailing into the Past: Learning from Replica Shisp. Prenton, Merseyside: Seaforth Publishing
The main argument of this source: the primary argument of this source is that the shipbuilding was important in the transport of the eighteenth century and over the past three centuries. The author argues that ship construction through the use of replica was important, especially the use of old colonial replicas and models. To assert this argument, the author explores the developments in the ship building industry in terms of design and construction methods and construction materials. Bennet (2010) explores the three centuries and describes how ship construction has developed over time. Bennet cites the eighteenth and nineteenth century’s as the most significant development period in the history of ship making and construction using replicas.
The plan for the use of this source in the Wikipedia page: This source will be used to demonstrate the importance of Colonial shipbuilding in the late 1700’s. In the Wikipedia page, we will use this source to talk about the process of building these ships and the materials that were used. In addition, we will use the source to explore the level of difficulty in building ships, and the value that came from the use of replicas. This source will be used to enrich the webpage with information regarding the use of replicas during the shipbuilding. In addition, this source will be used to provide information on the historical timeline for the use of replica in the building of ships in the historical times.
