                                                Causes of Terrorism in the World

Terrorism is one of the greatest threats to global unity and limitations of the spirit of globalization. It is a unique form of violence that has a different aspect of conflict between countries and between people in the world. It is a kind of violent agenda that seeks to propagate fear by impacting on victims, both the primary targets and the secondary targets, including innocent civilians. Due to the seriousness of this kind of conflict and violent engagements, it is worth to understand the topic in detail. Therefore, this discussion will analyze terrorism by exploring the causes of terrorism in the world. This is the reason why the following three articles were selected.

                                    Search Strategy

I selected these sources as the most relevant and applicable to the topic and for further learning about terrorism. One of the strategies used was to adopt a variety of sources of information about terrorism. To achieve this strategy of getting a variety of sources, I searched in the library and on the internet to get a source from a book, an article and a website. This was done in order to get the most relevant information about terrorism. Another search strategy for searching the sources used to explore the topic of terrorism was based on the credibility of the content and the relationship to the causes of terrorism. The more credible the source was the more reliable it is in the application of the research.

                        Source description

The sources for the research on the causes of terrorism are three, from three different types of sources. These sources are a website, an article and a book. I selected a website because it offered credible and practical information from a security institution that is instrumental in fighting terrorism. Therefore, I selected the website of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), a key institution in America that fights terrorism in the world. The other source was an article from an academic institution, the Academia. This article is of high quality because it is well researched by an educational institution and published for a credible academic use. The final source is a book written by experts in the international conflicts and terrorism field. The book provides a high quality source as it is published by a credible publisher.

                                    Source Evaluation

The three sources of information on the causes of terrorism in the world are evaluated below;

1, Terrorism and its Major Causes by Kingsley Uzoma,

The source is an article written by Kingsley Uzoma and published by the Academia education resources. The source was published in 2015, which makes it a recent content that can be explored in research on the causes of terrorism in the world. At the same time, the Kingsley provides examples of terrorist events that took place at different times, in order to put his arguments into perspective. In the article, Kingsley uses secondary research to gather information and give citations of various terror attacks in order to present his literature on the causes of terrorism. At the same time, Kingsley presents strong definitions of terrorism, description of the problem it causes and discusses in detail the causes of terrorism in the world.

2, Dale Watson, FBI

 The source comes from an official presentation by Dale Watson a senior investigator in the FBI to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, which sat in Washington, the United States. The presentation is a testimony describing the issue of terrorism and how it affects the United States. Just written a year after the September 9/11 attacks on the United States, the presentation and testimony of Dale Watson are timely on the issue of terrorism. While it is not recent, it is timely to the 9/11 terrorist attack because the attack was one of the violent attack on America. The source quoted uses the presentation method of writing about real facts and real investigation details about terrorism in the world. Watson (2002) presents important information about origin of terrorism and the causes of the violent attracts in the United States and the world. Therefore, the source is credible, relevant and objective about the issue of terrorism.

3, by Louise Richardson

The source is a book, written by Louise Richardson and published by the Routledge. The source is recent, and gives a discussion and arguments that are recent because it was published in 2013. As a result, the book provides content that is coherent with the recent terrorist attacks. Because of this, the book is credible and relevant to the causes of terrorism and the root origin of the violent attacks. The book uses both secondary and primary research methods to get information that is credible to the topic. The book therefore provides evidence that is real about the causes of terrorism by citing real events that happened in the past and in recent times. As a result of citing these events, the arguments by Louise Richardson about the root causes of terrorism reflect the information need that this research requires.
